1st Inning (Top)

Sam Isabella opens the game and grounds to third.  Jessica James next and she grounds to shortstop for the second out.  Julia James now at the plate and she lines one that hits the third base bag for a single.  Nikki Hannum lines one to third where Erin Fieldhouse reaches high above her head to make the grab for the third out.

1st Inning (Bottom)

Lia Sorce to lead things off for the Titans - after a slew of foul balls, she drives a ground ball through the right side for a single.  Julie Stampflelays down a nice bunt just in front of the plate for the sac - Sorce advances to second.  Megan Lynch stands in - draws a walk to put runners at first and second with one out.  Jen Simile drills a line drive up the middle that gets through the center fielder and then the ball is overthrown to third in an attempt to get Simile - the bases clear and the Titans are all of a sudden up 3-0.  Melissa McQuade takes a turn and grounds out for the second out.  Lisa Huber now at the plate - fly out to shallow center field to end the inning.

2nd Inning (Top)

Courtney Zingle to start the second inning - grounds to shortstop for out number one.  Sophomore Heather Hannum now stands in - tops the ball to sophomore pitcher Heather Elster who completes the play to first.  Rachel Gieringer reaches first on a misplayed grounder to the shortstop.  Katie Wambold faces Elster - Gieringer steals second to put a runner a second with two outs but Wambold strikes out to end the inning.

2nd Inning (Bottom)

Heather Elster cannot help her own cause as she strikes out against the Hatter's pitcher Amanda Sadowl.  Stevie Stanek flies out to left fielder Katie Wambold.  Erin Fieldhouse grounds to shortstop for the third out.

3rd Inning (Top)

Brittany Schlorff stands in to try and get something going for the Hatters - works a base on balls to give H-H a runner at first.  The diminutive Sam Isabella takes a turn at the dish - after running the count to 2-2, she switches from the left to the right side but to no avail as Elster picks up another K.  Catcher Jessica James to try against Elster - passed ball allows Schlorff to advance to second -  fly ball to center that is tracked down by Lia Sorce for out number 2.  Julia James now up - pops out to the first baseman Lisa Huber who makes a nice grab in foul territory.

3rd Inning (Bottom)

Lia Sorce leading off for the Titans against Sadowl - high fly ball along the right field foul line that is played perfectly and caught by Nikki Hannum.  Julie Stampfle pushes a fly ball to shallow left field for a single - runner at first with one out.  Megan Lynch with another high fly ball to Hannum in right field - same result for out number two.  Jen Simile now up against Sadowl - third strike foul tip caught by catcher Jessica James to retire the side and end the inning.

4th Inning (Top)

Nicki Hannum stands in to face Elster - caught looking for the first out.  Courtney Zingle grounds out to shortstop for out number two.  Heather Hannum now up - works a base on balls to give the Hatters a chnce with two out.  Rachel Gieringer steps up - grounds to shortstop Julie Stampfle who fires a strike to first to retire the side.

4th Inning (Bottom)

Melissa McQuade hits one right at the shortstop Brittany Schlorff who snags it for the first out.  Lisa Huber stands in - hard grounder to third baseman Rachel Gieringer who nicely fields it and fires to first for the second out.  Heather Elster hits a line drive but right at first baseman Heather Hannum who makes the grab for the third out.

5th Inning (Top)

Katie Wambold now facing Elster - hot grounder off the glove of the third baseman for a single.  Brittany Schlorff with a nice bunt to advance Wambold to second with one out.  Infield way in for Sam Isabella - chases one outside from the hard throwing sophomore Elster - the strikeout makes the second out.  Jessica James grounds a one hopper back to the pitcher Elster who completes the play to first for the third out.

5th Inning (Bottom)

Stevie Stanek starts things off for the Titans with a single up the middle.  Van Smolter enters to run for Stanek.  Erin Fieldhouse at the dish - bunt to Sadowl who fires to first for out number one but the sac is successful as Smolter advances to second base.  Lia Sorce with a long high fly ball down the right field line but once again Nikki Hannum has it played perfectly as she grabs the fly ball and prevents Smolter from advancing to third.  Julie Stampfle runs the count full - nubs one back to the pitcher Sadowl who charges nicely and completes the play to first to end the inning.

6th Inning (Top)

Julia James to face the still hard throwing Elster in the top of the sixth - goes down swinging for out number one.  Nikki Hannum now gets a chance to start something for the Hatters - and she does - a hard grounder through the left side for a single.  Courtney Zingle grounds to the second baseman who throws to second to get the lead runner - two out with a runner on first.  Wild pitch advances Zingle to seccond.  Heather Hannum hits a ground ball to the third baseman Erin Fieldhouse who takes care of business by firing to first for the third out.

6th Inning (Bottom)

Megan Lynch to face Sadowl - slow grounder to second and on to first for the easy first out.  Jen Simile hits a grounder past the third baseman that is fielded by the shortstop in the hole but no chance for a play - single for Simile.  Melissa McQuade now up - count runs full - fly ball in foul territory along left field side where Katie Wambold makes a great play as she catches the ball while bouncing off the chain link fence for out number two.  Lisa Huber grounds out to the sure handed third baseman Rachel Gieringer to end the inning.

7th Inning (Top)

Rachel Gieringer the first batter in a do or die situation for the Hatters in the top of the seventh - long fly ball to deep center tracked down by Lia Sorce for out number one.  Katie Wambold stand in - hard grounder to third baseman Lisa Huber who promptly latches onto the ball and fires to first for out number two.  Freshman Sara Dougherty enters the game to pinch hit - goes down swinging as Shaler wins the Quad A softball state championship!
